ONG-ISAC and Collaborator member, Booz Allen Hamilton co-hosted  a ransomware webinar.  Presented by Jerry Bessette, Senior Vice President, Booz Allen Hamilton, the topic profiled how the Maze Group attacks are highly disruptive, involve multi-million dollar ransoms, and why handling these attacks requires very different skills from traditional breach response. Dealing with the Maze Group involves direct negotiation with the threat actor, and critical decisions on whether to pay the ransom, how to negotiate the lowest possible ransom and how to prepare the organization for the possible consequences of non-payment, public disclosure etc., as well as a post breach plan.
