BitSight is analyzing the security performance of thousands of ransomware victims to identify common challenges and key programmatic areas to improve to reduce risk. In research published on May 20, 2021, BitSight found that poor patching performance is a strong indicator of increased risk to ransomware — in fact, organizations with less mature patching programs are 7x more likely to experience a ransomware incident.
